about us

Inclusive, accessible, and fun opportunities for children with disabilities and life-limiting conditions and their families.

Daytrippers was an independent charity established in 2003 with the mission of funding day trips and delivering large-scale bespoke events (find out more here).

Before closing in 2021, the charity restructured in 2018 and renamed Daytrippers Foundation, to become a grant-giving organisation. We believed every child has the right to a happy and thriving childhood. Our aim was to fund opportunities for children, young people and families to explore, learn, develop, and achieve.  UK special schools, children’s hospices, hospitals, charities, and not-for-profit organisations all were eligable for grants.

Grants programmes:

  • Day Trips – Groups enjoyed great days out, such as trips to theme parks, outdoor activity centres, zoos, beaches and theatre performances.
  • Events & Workshops – Organisations were awarded up to £3,000 to develop inclusive events, therapy sessions and workshops.
  • Legacy – Organisations were invited to apply for up to £10,000 towards innovative project ideas which aimed to make a long-term difference to the lives of children and their families.
